Lovers Workshop: Movement for the Soul
In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest
where no-one sees you,
but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.
–Rumi–
Lovers Workshop is a 2,5 hour workshop where couples get introduced to different ways of moving and working together. With exercises that builds trust, concentration and intimacy, we invite them to explore and enjoy each other in a non-sexual yet very personal way. It starts soft with exercises that stimulates concentration and awareness and after we go through a more energetic part with weight sharing exercises, games and a bit of improvisation and we finish with a simple meditation and massage. The workshop is aimed towards people who would like to experience movement as a tool of expression and connection more than as a technical tool. It is for people who aren’t afraid of moving, having fun and are ready to explore new sides of themselves and the connection to their partner.
We are Raquel Miro and Carl Staaf, two professional dancers who have been working with the body for more then 20 years. After performing around in Europe for many years we are now finding new ways of sharing and spreading dance, awareness and joy. Since a few years we have been expanding our horizons and are now at the side of dancing, also teaching yoga and giving thai massage.
We are very interested in the body and natural health and how movement can help, heal and connect us humans with each other. This workshop is the result of what we love doing and what we feel people like to experience. It is one of many things we are currently involved in concerning movement, health and awareness.
